Ok, what the hell is the deal with note takers in USA college classes. They are there for the purpose of taking notes for students who for one reason or another aren't capable of taking their own notes. The idea is fine, but when implemented we see just why communism doesn't work, human nature. They show up late, leave early, at times don't pay attention, and they get paid to do so. I mean, come on, take advantage of this valuable learning opportunity, don't wash it away. You could be learning for the sake of learning, not for a grade, and get paid to do it. But no, instead you choose to squeek on by. Meanwhile, the person who needs the help suffers. There's no excuse to show up late on a consistant basis. We all have experianced that untimely emergancy, fine, but not stopping to talk to a friend in the halls. Oversleeping, or working on homework for another class, that's no excuse. It's your job, take it seriously, because others depend on you for it. As for leaving early, no, even if its a video or something stay till the teacher dismisses the class, you may miss a valuable point that the teacher will want to make after or during the video or presentation. Falling asleep in the middle of class? WHAT THE HELL! No, unexceptable, you should forfeit your earnings for that class period, maybe even be fined. I mean, there's a reason why you're there, and you shouldn't be using it as your own personal time. Take the job seriously.

I think I'll become one next semester, if not just to see what it's like.
